Family Learning

Family Learning is about children and adults learning together. It supports families to develop new skills, build stronger relationships, and create a positive learning culture at home. When families learn together, it can help children do better at school and give adults more confidence to support their child’s learning. Your school will be able to confirm specific Family Learning programmes that may be available for you and your children.

Family Learning activities can take many forms – from storytelling, cooking, and outdoor play to digital skills, literacy, and numeracy sessions. Some programmes also offer the chance for parents and carers to gain qualifications or take the first steps back into adult education or employment.

Our Family Learning programmes are welcoming, inclusive, and based on what families tell us they need. They are designed to be fun, practical, and focused on strengthening the bond between parent and child.

Many of the programmes we offer are evidence-based and led by trained staff who understand the challenges families face.

Whether you’re looking to support your child’s learning, build your own confidence, or connect with other families, Family Learning offers something for everyone.

Parents and carers who have taken part in Family Learning programmes report that they feel more confident in their ability to support their child’s learning. Research shows that when parents support children’s learning at home then children do better at school and in the future.
